The platinum metal is highly priced because of its rarity and density  as precious metals are often priced based on their weight. The main use for platinum is jewellery, reason being it is one the most durable metals used for wearable jewellery pieces. The platinum cost price varies depending on how the economy is standing. On the 3th of April 2023 the platinum price in dollars cost 986 dollars, when converting the price in South African currency is R18 161,70. According to the Cape Precious Metals the platinum cost price granules is R638.54. If I were to buy ten granules of platinum it would cost me R6 385.40.
