The ancient Egyptian people drew scarab symbols on tomb walls. Ancient Egyptians made decoration out of the scarab beetle. The above image is a bracelet made out of gold, carnelian, lapis lazuli, quartz, and turquoise. The scarab shaped amulet was used for protection. It could be worn as jewellery. Such amulets were buried with the mummy in ancient Egypt. The amulet was placed over the mummies heart , with the magic and protective spell written on the back of it. In ancient Egypt the scarab beetle represent the cycle of life and has even became the symbol of birth, life and death.
